The relay event is available to all athletes, with registration up to 50 places
Trophies will be awarded to the first three relay racers with the best total race time. Relays are awarded in general and not according to gender.
Relay Entries – Fees
The relay entry fee is €200.
If one or more relay team members are non-affiliated, an additional €15 per non-affiliated athlete will be added to the base entry fee.
The entry fee includes

- 3 Race Belts
- 1 Swim Cap
- 1 Timing Chip
- 1 Chip Wristband
- Refreshments (for use exclusively during the event)
General Rules
- The relay groups can be 2 or 3 elements.
- Participation is allowed from the age of 18, according to the calendar year.
- The relays can be made up exclusively of women or men or they can be mixed.
- Each relay must have a responsible person who may or may not participate in the race.
- It's up to the person in charge of the relay to ensure that the triathletes are registered in the different segments.
- The participation kit can be picked up by a member of the relay group even if he is not responsible, as long as he presents proof of registration. It is not authorized to pick up kits from another relay team other than yours.
- Each segment (swimming, cycling or running) must be completed by one of the relay members, it is not possible for the same athlete to complete all three segments.
- Athletes registered in relays must start from the last Rolling Start box ≥42.
- The chip works as the baton and the anchor places will be marked in the transition parks.
- Relay cut-offs are the same as for individual participation.
- The triathletes who are part of the relay race can cross the finish line together, as long as they go to the area next to the finish line which will be marked.
- The three elements of the relay, upon completing the race, will receive a medal and the event finisher kit.
Changes to relay registration
- It is possible to change the elements of the group until August 31, 2026, as indicated in point 11 of the regulations.
- It is possible to change from an individual registration to a relay registration and vice-versa as long as the desired section is not sold out. This change can be made until August 31, 2026 and will have associated costs. There will be no refund of registration money if the change is from relay to single registration.
- It is possible to change a relay from 2 elements to 3 elements and vice versa as long as it is communicated by August 31, 2026.
- All these changes must be requested in writing to the race support email: suporte@hmssports.pt
- All conditions for cancellation by the triathlete and transfer of registrations, as well as conditions for cancellation or postponement of the Event by the Organisation present in points 11 and 12 of the event regulations, respectively, apply to registration by relay.
